Au Pair visas to work in Spain

If this term is new to you, let us tell you about it briefly!

Au Pair is an exchange program in which anyone from around the world can participate, whereby a family in a particular country is invited to their home to help them do housework or take care of their children, while at the same time the person learns the language and culture of the host country. In return, the family provides housing, food and drink for this person (Au Pair).

Any young man or woman between the ages of 18 and 30 can work as an Au Pair, traveling to a foreign country for a specified period of time to live with a host family.

You must apply for an entry visa to Spain and obtain a special residence permit for Au Pairs from the Spanish consulate or embassy in your country before coming to Spain.

You must also meet certain conditions, for example, you must:

Be between 17 and 30.

You have an agreement between you and the host family that specifies work and salary details (if applicable).

You have proof that you can support yourself in addition to the medical report.

This permit may be renewed for one year provided you meet the conditions.

Families looking for Au Pairs can be found and contacted via the official website: aupairworld.

Immigration to Spain through a golden visa or an investment visa

A Golden Visa for Spain is a residence visa issued to a non-EU citizen who intends to make a significant investment in the Spanish economy. The visa provides the holder and his family members with residence in Spain and the possibility of visa-free travel to any of the Schengen countries.

Golden visas for Spain are issued to people who buy real estate, most of the time. However, it is also available to business people who invest in a Spanish company, which is why this visa is also referred to as the Investor Visa.

To be eligible for the Spanish Golden Visa, you must make one of the following investments:

Purchase of real estate in Spain with a value of at least 500,000 euros. The property can be one or several units, with a total value of not less than 500,000 euros.

Invest in Spanish government debt of at least €2,000,000.

Purchase of shares in a company or deposit in a Spanish bank for at least 1,000,000 euros.

Invest in a new venture that creates employment, contributes to scientific and/or technological innovation and has a relevant social and economic impact in the area in which the business will take place.

After five years it is possible to obtain permanent residence and after ten years Spanish citizenship.

Immigration to Spain via Student Visa

It can be said that it is one of the preferred options for many in order to obtain permanent residence, work and settle in Spain. In general, a person needs to apply to study in an educational institution in Spain, and then after obtaining university admission and fulfilling all the conditions for a student visa, it is possible to apply for this visa through the Spanish embassy in the applicant's country.

The student visa is renewable from within Spain as long as the student continues to study or it can be converted to another type of visa over time. For example, after the student has completed his studies in Spain and wishes to search for work, he can apply from within Spain to obtain a job search visa, which is for a full year.

Or if the student spent in Spain a period of 3 years of study, then he can transfer his residence from a student residence to a work residence in the country as long as he has the opportunity to work and settle down. Converting a student visa to a work visa is the first step to settling in Spain and obtaining permanent residence and then Spanish citizenship.

Therefore, you must know the types of student visa and choose the visa with a long period of time, which can be renewed from within Spain, in order to be able to settle in the country.

Immigration to Spain via a non-lucrative visa
Non-profit residency is one of the different types of Spanish visas granted to non-EU citizens who have enough financial resources to remain in the country without working. This also applies to relatives of the applicant, as you can also bring your family with you.

This permit will allow you to stay in Spain for one year, after that, you will be able to renew it every two years until you get permanent residence (after 5 years in the country).

The non-profit residence visa does not allow you to engage in any kind of economic or professional activities in Spain (such as work) but allows you to invest such as buying shares in a company etc.
You can bring your family with you from the start.
You do not need to invest in the country to get this visa.
The only thing you need to achieve is to have enough financial resources to support yourself (and your family).
The visa is suitable for people:

Everyone who wants to retire in Spain.
Foreigners who have sufficient economic funds to support themselves in the country without having to work.
For all individuals who wish to remain during their first year in Spain without work (to visit and discover the country), but after that if they wish to start their work in the country this visa must be converted into a legal work permit.

How long does it take to study an application for permanent residence?

The time taken to obtain a permanent resident card is 3 months. That is, after submitting your application with all required documents, the administration has 90 days to issue a positive response to your application. Usually, if no response is received within this time, it will be understood that the request has been approved.

Once you receive a positive notice, you will have one month to attend any police office and apply for your residence card. You will have to submit 3 passport size photos, an EX-17 form and pay the relevant fee (€20.60).

To renew this residency every 5 years, you will need to prove that you have not left Spain for 12 consecutive months in the last 5 years, and that you do not have a criminal record, nothing more!

Obtaining Spanish citizenship

There is more than one way to apply for Spanish citizenship. Knowing that obtaining citizenship through residency requires living in Spain for a certain period of time, there are other cases in which Spanish citizenship can be obtained in a faster way.

How long do I need to live in Spain to obtain citizenship?

It is possible to apply for Spanish citizenship by residing in the country, if the person has lived in Spain for 10 consecutive years without interruption. This applies to the types of visas and residences mentioned previously, i.e. practically when obtaining permanent residence, it is possible to apply for Spanish citizenship after 5 years.

There are exceptions or certain situations in which you can obtain citizenship faster:

In the case of marriage to a Spanish citizen, in this case it is sufficient for you to reside in Spain for one year to obtain citizenship. This process of sexual intercourse is called marriage.

Spanish citizenship can be obtained in just two years for those from Portugal, the Philippines, Andorra, any country in Latin America or Equatorial Guinea.

If you are a refugee in Spain, the time required is only 5 years.

In this way, my friends, we have learned detailed information about immigration to Spain 2021 and the most important visas available to apply for an opportunity to travel to Spain and put the first step on the way to obtaining permanent residence and Spanish citizenship.
